What are slave badges?
The goal of the Golden Tether slave badges is to make it very easy to at a glance gauge the level of skill a certain slave has. They're sigils in wax added to the slave's papers by a staffmember of the Golden Tether, after a test of the skill has been performed. It's the Golden Tether's guarantee that the skills that are mentioned on the papers have been validated. Badges exist in three levels, determined by the level of skill the slave possesses: bronze, silver and gold. The number or level of these skills can have an impact on the slave's rental or sale price.
How are slave badges earned?
New slaves to the Golden Tether start off with processing, during which a list of skills is determined. These skills are unverified. Skills can be verified by the slave displaying an aptitude in the skill. This can be through interaction with the staff, suggested by patrons after rentals, participation in events, etc. Patrons and house slaves are more welcome to assist staff by performing tests and recommending slaves for certain skill levels, but only a staff member can decide whether or not a badge will be given out. Furthermore, patrons may only suggest one level per skill for a particular slave. To reach gold in a skill, three tests need to be passed. Staff can accept promotions or promote a slave as many levels as they deem needed.
Can slave badges be stripped?
Yes. At the discretion of the staff, slave badges can be stripped or lowered in level when the skill is slipping, or as punishment.

All slaves can earn badges. This includes unowned slaves, owned slaves and house slaves.
